1. What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before?
Rent an apartment in Brooklyn. What? I pay the utilities

2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions and will you make more for next year?
You know, I’m bad at making promises to others but especially to myself. Although, I have convinced Tyler to join me in creating a set of 365 photos (one per day) on flickr and play on oneword but we’ll see how that goes.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No but Kenny May got married.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
I do not think so.

5. What countries did you visit?
My paranoid parents forbid me to leave the United States of America until we get our greencard in 2009. I hate immigration services =)

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Mo’ money, mo’ problems. Err… a full-time job with which I can pay rent and continue living a pretentious NYC life.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I lead a pretty memorable life so pretty much every day but some quality times include the Pacific Northwest roadtrip, the summer of orientations deux, my birthday extravaganza, every party at my apartment, Dyson Fellows weekend, the first two-ish weeks of December.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Bitchslapping with beans, obviously.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I failed to give a shit about unnecessary things.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I’m allergic to Greenville, MS. I take prescription medicines to survive my stays here.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Plane ticket to Seattle.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My friends pretty much rule this section.

13. Whose behaviours made you appalled and depressed?
You can only be appalled by power hungry government leaders for so long before becoming desensitised.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Books, boys, and booze but it’s okay because I dig all three.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My awesome apartment, turning 21, life in general.

Let’s try bands/artists instead: John Butler Trio, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Ben Harper, The Beatles, Nick Drake, Simon & Garfunkel, A Perfect Circle, Bob Dylan.

i. happier or sadder? I say happier every year but it’s true.
ii. thinner or fatter? Fattying it up at 105 lbs.
iii. richer or poorer? Money bags Neelofer over here

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Lay in the grass, wax philosophical, write.

I have embraced my procrastination and laziness.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
On Devon Street in Chicago, IL looking for a copy of the goddamn New York Times.

21. How will you be spending New Year’s?
Kickin’ back with some P.Blizzy kids.

What a serious question to follow up a night of boozing. Well, I guess I did.

I don’t roll like that.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
Project Runway. And Degrassi.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Nah.

26. What was the best book you read?
I can’t even remember all the books I did read this year so I’m just going to say The Magic Christian by Terry Southern because it is so goddamn offensive.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Iron & Wine.

28. What did you want and get?
To be honest: the best life EVER.

29. What did you want and not get?
I could always use more hugs.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
V for Vendetta, Little Miss Sunshine. There are a couple more released this year I have yet to see but imagine I’ll enjoy.

21. Dinner and jazz club with Lee. Pirate party with lots of cool kids.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More hugs!

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Pretentious NYC meaning dark colours. And also my “outfit” = scrubby clothes.

34. What kept you sane?
Tyler Davis.

Pfft.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The incompetent administration of Pace University

37. Who did you miss?
People I looooove.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Wally who rocks everywhere, Sarah Penis, Mama Russia, this one cute boy Adam, Cool Pace Pressers: Mike Bruno, D.J., Jeffrey because he cracks me up all the time. Others I’m sure.

The NYTimes crossword is an excellent stress reliever.
